LN 266 of 2019 – Amendments to the Gaming Licence Fees Regulation

On the 15th of October 2019, The Parliamentary Secretary for Financial Services, Digital Economy and Innovation, in consultation with the Malta Gaming Authority, brought into effect Legal Notice 266 of 2019 that is to apply to start-up applicants and licensees on or after the 1st of January 2020.

The Legal Notice (“LN”) amends sub-regulation 2 of Regulation 9 of the Gaming Licence Fees Regulations, which primarily means that start-up licensees or the group that it forms part of has generated € 10,000,000 or less in terms of revenue in the previous 36 months.

Moreover, the LN amends the fourth schedule of the above-mentioned Regulations, which will now take into account the addition of a new game vertical rather than a game type. Such addition shall be for an administrative fee of € 1,000.
