There are many reasons one might choose to re-locate to Malta; employment opportunities, the warmer climate, language benefits, tax purposes or simply for retirement. Whichever the reason, citizenship is important to consider if you intend to settle and work on the island. Under the Malta Individual Investor Programme (IIP) third country nationals may gain naturalisation for themselves and their families if they contribute to the economic development of Malta, giving them the right to establishment in any of the 28 European member states.
